NOW THE HUMANS HAVE GONE TO THE DOGS
ALLENTOWN, PA (August 15, 2004) - After making stylishly hip products for dogs for nearly five years, Otis and Claude now announces a line of fashionable gifts for humans. This new product line features three colorful dog illustrations, each capturing a personality trait of a popular breed in a scenario that incorporates the company's flagship dog products.
These images include a playful long-tongued pug licking her chops after finishing a snack and a drink from a Lucy dog bowl; a stoic bulldog standing wide-legged over a Jed toy showing the world his best game-face and a wide-eyed chocolate lab crouched over a Bettie dog toy looking for the next toss to continue his endless game of fetch.
Initial products from this new line include fashion tees for women ($28), men ($30) and toddler ($20) with new items such as shoulder carry bags, note cards and wrapping paper coming soon. "Making cool products for humans is such a natural extension for us", says Diana Flynn, company founder. "Our customers are drawn to our products, in part because they feel a connection with our design and colors, and these new items allow them to keep a piece of the Otis and Claude sensibility for themselves."
Otis and Claude also announces a relationship with Taguchi Overseas, to distribute a line of Japanese inspired wooden and ceramic bowls, beds, and accessories for dogs and cats. The Eat/Drink food stations ($40) compliment Otis and Claude's current bowl offering by providing a clean modern raised design using a ceramic material that consumers know and love. The Sleep beds ($50) were created primarily for small dogs and cats and feature a wooden frame and a machine washable two-color (blue/green, orange/olive, brown/white) reversible cotton pillow for added style and extra comfort. Climb ($150) is the first modular kitty condo that customers won't want to hide in the closet. Not only does Climb allow Morris to survey life from way up high, but he can also hide, scratch and peek to his hearts content. Climb has five cotton-covered stackable cubes and is available in two fashion-forward multi-colored options (yellow/pink/orange/white/black, taupe/green/blue/white/brown).
Otis and Claude fashion tees, Eat/Drink, Sleep and Climb are available in pet boutiques, home accessory and gift specialty stores, catalogs, and online storefronts nationwide late fall.
